The whole point of therapy is to have someone who has been through rigorous therapy themselves to deal with their own stuff, and trained long enough to be able to provide a safe space to hold all the clients stuff. Boundaries are essential in therapy and he is already proving that even as a husband he can't respect your boundaries. I would never provide counselling for family, or friends and I won't even accept clients who I went to school with, regardless of whether or not we were close.
