In times of emergency a partner should be able to put aside their own fears a bit.
It's pretty fucking simple. Which is more important to you? Smoking weed or your family? You smoking makes you incompatible with your partner and they have the right to leave you over it and shouldn't be judged, shamed, or pressured for it. Legality or social acceptance are irrelevant.
