Your 23 year old sister was sad, mopey, etc etc over not winning a stuffed toy at the fair. She was bringing everyone down over it to the point your mom took you aside and asked you to try and win a toy for her because she was that obviously disappointed. So then you went off, alone, (for how long? Did you tell your girlfriend what you were doing or did you just disappear?) and spent your entire game budget to get your sister that toy.
How can you not see that you elevated your sister's emotions to such a level of importance that the entire outing became about her and her feelings and catering to her feelings and when your girlfriend dared to say 'Hey, I have feelings too', you shamed her and dismissed her and made her feel like shit for it. That is what she is most upset about. That you had 2 women you care about who are almost the same age and you bent over backwards to treat one with kid gloves and told the other one to suck it up. You treated your sister like a delicate, sensitive baby and your girlfriend like an eye-rolling annoyance.
It's very weird how much you (and your mom) infantilize your sister and how deeply resistant you are to acknowledging that and to acknowledging that you fucked up by being so dismissive of your girlfriend's perfectly normal feelings while being so accepting and accommodating of your sister's alarming immaturity.
