My boss hates giving overtime, but I’ve worked a few weeks for more than 40 hours and you do not have a lot of free time. Currently, I work a paid job 11 hours per week (one 11 hour shift every Saturday), 15 hours of an internship a week, plus I’m a full time student. I would say when you include all of my class work, I have around a 70-80 hour week and this is a light semester for me. I have maybe an hour- two hours of free time each day and that’s usually late at night before I go to bed. I’m currently on spring break and today was the first day that I had NOTHING to do in months. Last school year from September to May, I think I had maybe 15-20 true days off where I had nothing do out of the around 270 days. Both OP and his wife are making sacrifices right now and assuming that he’s doing nothing does nothing to help the situation. He’s already stated that he helps around on weekends which probably all he can possibly do.
