That's exactly what I'm worried about. I know it's not my responsibility to make her happy anymore but I'm kinda sad for her, if she really is spending this time alone. I really believe nobody should. You got a good point though.
I don’t honestly think this is anything really to do with being in an open relationship. It’s just the end of a relationship, which happens to us all at sometime or other.
Always consider breaks as a break up. It’s better to just get on with being heartbroken and get the upset out the way and tbh, waiting for someone to come back just hurts you more and stops you living your own life.
This is exactly what me and my gf have been doing for a few years now and it's worked out fantastically well. We each put around half of our salary into our mutual account as soon as we get paid each month, and then use it to pay all our bills/groceries/family activities/nights out/trips/etc. What we each do with our individual money after that is beyond reproach.
For a long time I earned more than her, for the past year or so she's earned more than me. Since we contribute a percentage or our salary, it always feels fair.
Yea time to leave, quit wasting your time

So far it sounds like your ex's place might be best.
Is he able to afford to house 2 dogs?
