  1. she also said she wanted to process things herself and not speak to me for a while.

That's what the space is for, she's still processing. It's not gonna happen as fast as you want it to and she probably doesn't know how to tell you.

Sounds like you're trying to jump into this a little fast beloved, you told her to take all the time she needs and she is.

  2. No competion was ever in place. I am gloating on standing my ground and standing up for myself. I am a chronic people please who has always caved to what others wanted my whole life. I am finally in therapy and have been working on literally being more selfish. Just standing my ground on this in one conversation with someone is a milestone for me. That is the gloating part… out conversation was loving. Nothing was decided. I said he has plenty ty of time to make the best choice for him. We aren't even engaged. But he brought it up and our conversation was successful and caused growth for us both. I would never promote him doing anything he didn't want to do. I fully support any desicion he makes for himself.

  3. You could change the locks and call the police if she tries to do the same thing again. At the very least, she would be trespassing.

  4. OP, you didnt blow your chance. You’re just choosing to look at it this way, thereby keeping alive the dream/obsession of “what could have been,” rather than accepting that you were rejected and he isn’t interested.

If you have known him for so long, he likely already knows what you are really like. You were friends for so long, no? The coffee chat wasnt a first impression, it was literally getting caught up. And after that, he left.

On one hand, I’ll be honest, you did not do yourself any favours by trying to see him while in a bad headspace. I genuinely question anyone’s motives and the healthy dynamic of any relationship that starts off that way. But this is just a one-sided infatuation and you need to learn to let go, perhaps with professional help since this has gone on for so long.
