It sounds like he's trying to train you to never bring up concerns or express any negative feelings.
Your issues are valid, but he will do pretty much anything to avoid addressing them. This is a shocking lack of care from a SO, especially one you've been with for so long. And you can't convince someone that you're worthy of basic respect.
You didn't wait too long, if anything you did it sooner than you were ready. You 2 were just on different time tables. If it was meant to be, this wouldn't have been a problem. But it wasn't.
