I'm not sure how long you've been with him or if you've talked to him about the future. However, this is a textbook case where your bf's mom sees her son as her surrogate spouse. She treats him more like a permanent spouse than a son. If he doesn't see it or want to change it, then you will never have a much of a future with him.
Also, a transition for him living apart from her will be … a transition. Have you talked to him about these things? It sounds like his mother has no plan or capacity to be on her own so they are a package deal.
I agree that both partners should share responsibilities, but often times in most relationships that is not the case and the woman is left with all of the grunt work, which is what’s happening here.
