Sometimes we become close with people, and grow to care for them deeply whether it be romantically or platonically. Sometimes those people leave. It’s a sad part of life.
What you have to look ahead to is the people you’ll meet as your life moves forward.
For two years I developed a tight-knit group of friends, people I thought I’d be around for years. Then, out of nowhere I had to move back home. It sucked being away from the people I cared about so much, knowing the friendships would never be as they were due to the distance. But life moved on, and I found new friends, and just like those before I had to leave them as well. But yet again, I found new friends.
My point being is life moves on, and I suspect you’ll be just fine. We’re lucky to meet the people we do, and we can always look back fondly on those days, but ultimately, there’s always new people to meet.
