1. I've tried to talk to him, but nothing gets solved and it always ends up in a shouting match. He even proposed the idea of paying his share of the rent just so they would accomodate him somewhat. 3. What’s worse for your kiddo than being temporarily sad, is being exposed to a toxic and emotionally abusive relationship. Kids grow up and end up in relationships that look like what they have grown up seeing. Stay strong. You are doing the right thing.
