This feels very poignant to me even though I think I'm still struggling to really believe it. I don't know. I am a neurotic-type. I do enjoy myself occasionally, I'm not miserly, but I also tend to save money and enjoy myself in simpler ways, like internet-browsing or weight-lifting.
I think he thinks he's helping me. He says he's definitely not trying to get me to prioritise drink (we both have alcoholics in our family) but when I see things laid out as they are, to encourage me to quit my job for St. Patrick's Day drinking, isn't that what he's doing?

Girl.. im sorry to say this but he's just not that into you. He seems like he only values sex.. not non sexual time spent together. Like, if sex was off the table, he doesn't want to even hang out? Screw that. Your partner should enjoy spending time with you even if there's no sex promised. Now don't get me wrong, sex can be a very important part in some relationships, but it shouldn't be the MAIN reason why you spend time with someone. Personality, chemistry, sense of humor are all more important to me than just sex.. Dump this loser and find someone who actually cares about you as a person.
