Is he worth it to ruin your friendship? First scenario: If you try to come in between them you'll definitely loose your friend. Second scenario: If your friend and the guy became serious with their dating but eventually broke off..will you still go after the guy? If you do, then most likely you'll still loose your friend.
So…the better decision to make is stay away from him as early as now, support your friend at the side. Don't overthink about your similarities/compatibility with that guy. Stop day dreaming about your “what ifs” and again, look for another guy.

My partner also has stronger BO, but he goes out of his way to shower/put on deodorant/change his shirt when he can smell it or when it gets to be too much and I ask him to. He actually has asked me to keep pointing it out when he bothers me because he doesn’t want to smell bad. I think if your boyfriend isn’t really putting in the effort or taking your concerns seriously, that points to a larger issue. It can seem so trivial but smell really is a big part of attraction, to me anyway.
