I could just be a general incompatibility. He might not be a bad person and it might not be related to your past trauma. I would say that if you are spending so much time thinking about how you want to break up with him, then I think it's probably best for both of you that you do. I’m almost positive OP means dissociation. It is a trauma response that can be severe enough to cause memory gaps and be part of a fight or flight response where you don’t make logical decisions well. Not sure if that’s what he’s alluding to. If it is, his girlfriend needs to be in therapy.
