What type of fraud did he commit? We have no idea and you have consistently ignored every comment asking for more details on the specifics of his crime. For all we know the wife is justified in being wary of your father and you're leaving those details out intentionally because you know it will make you and him look bad.

So…unless you're looking for a McMansion what kind of house are you looking at that costs so much? Starting out with more house and expenses than you need is a great way to put a lot of unneeded stress on a new marriage. Y'all should downsize your expectations for a house to what you actually have money for, you can always move into a larger home later if it's that important to you to live! in a McMansion.
I don’t believe I wanted an open marriage in the beginning but over time the thought emerged and I’m not one to just sit on things. I am very open with my wife and it’s not the best way to do things but it’s how I did them.
