Awesome you have the ability to stay home with such a supportive family. BUT… she’s right. You need to get out and live! on your own for a while. See how it is to budget money, food, chores, paying bills, etc. Learn how to online alone and do things on your own. You can’t always rely on others. Every person can let you down at some point, even if it’s by accident. It’s good to be self sufficient and capable by yourself. It’s more attractive too. And I would personally suggest that if it’s at all possible, get your own place ALONE! No roommates, no gf (besides occasional nights spent), just you doing your own thing in your own space. I never did that (always had roommates, parents or gf/wife) and I regret it immensely. Nothing against my family now and I don’t hold it against them but I do, at least partly, fantasize about having my own place from time to time.
