  1. I guess you're right that they're problems with the relationship in general, but in my mind I'm just sort of thinking that if they haven't been an issue so far and haven't caused us problems, why would they once we're married? The only one that isn't an issue now is the one with his family, since I've never met them, but I'd probably have to once we were married, especially since his extended family would want us to do some sort of wedding in his home country.

As for your other question, I don't really know. Sentimentality, I guess. I've been dreaming of marrying this boy for over half my life. I have notebooks from when I was 11 years old where I'm doodling hearts around our names and adding his last name to mine. I've wanted to be his wife for as long as I can really remember. Even if it wouldn't change much, the fact that I get to call him my husband and not my boyfriend is just incredible.

The barriers to divorce shouldn't be an issue anyway. My boyfriend has said many times he wants to get a prenup because of how wealthy my family is and he doesn't want anyone to think he's with me for money.

  2. He's full of shit.

Hell, I'm not even saying he doesn't love the thought of you. You can totally love having someone to fall back on when you're done cheating, and partying and eating meat.

But he doesn't respect you, honour you, choose you, prefer you, want only you, or love YOU.

Forget his bullshit. Kick him to the kerb.

  3. Good on you for taking the time to right this out for someone. You're a way better person than me.

    OP. Listen to this individual.

  4. Thank you for that. I really appreciate your advise and perspective, it has helped me to sort out some of my own thoughts.

  5. Oh please, you’re not that immature I hope. What did you wear when they were at it? Dinner plans?

Adding whether someone is trans is completely irrelevant and you know it.

  6. I’m trying to forget about him. I just saw him on Sunday and (genuinely not trying to play victim here) he’s done horrible things to me that are keeping me trauma bonded to him. We just break up and get back together religiously at this point. In addition to the emotional abuse, he also r*pes me when I try to break free from the relationship. I feel like this may be a longer break up (MAYBE) but I’m always on high alert because he always comes back. No matter if he’s blocked, I threaten to call the police, etc. He doesn’t take no for an answer and always finds a way back in. I’m currently stuck in this lease until October but when it’s up, I plan to change my number and move somewhere he’ll never find me.

  7. She's 20 now. It's time to grow up and fit her sleep patterns around jobs. Life doesn't care about her sleep preferences.

Obviously it's different if IT is depression.

  8. Animals are a source of joy. They're fun to play with and cuddle! It's natural to bond with animals.

It sounds like your instincts are correct though. Your interest in the woman may be fading. Or alternatively, maybe your feelings for her feel dull compared to the strong feelings you have toward her dog. As you said, it may help to spend time with her without the dog around to see how you feel about her. Your feelings and bond with the dog can cloud your judgment.

I went through similar. I dated a guy longer than I should have because I adored his cats. A year later, I still miss the cats. It happens.
