I'm in a county with a population density of 37 people per square mile. My town is 1900 peoole. My neighbor has a maternal 1st cousin married to a paternal 1st cousin. Their kids are related to pretty much everyone born here per the ancestry style DNA test they took. And even their parents are related I think back fit cousins or something.
And if/ when you DO defend yourself, you will be the one in jail for the night at the very least. It doesn't matter that you think her slap didn't hurt. The issue is the fact that she slapped you in the first place because you confronted her about her toxic views. And they ARE toxic. This “be a real man” bullshit should have died out decades ago. The fact of the matter is, you can not change her. No one is giving you advise on how to change her because there is none. This is how she is. And eventually, her views will lead to you shutting down emotionally, which will create MANY MANY problems I'm your life to come. I know you don't see it right now, but her mindset on men and crying is absolutely insane and should not be tolerated under any circumstances. My friend, you are in an abusive relationship and you are the victim. Please don't get angry and upset with people who are simply telling you the truth. What if you have kids with her? Will you allow her to treat them like this? Slap them if they disagree with her? What will you do then, when it all could have been prevented? You deserve better than this. And if you stay with this woman long term, you may look back on this post and think to yourself “I should have left before the kids got involved”.

In my early 20's I was in a terrible relationship and was getting beat all the time, the final straw for me was being spat at in the face. I don't know why but for me that was so much worse than all the bruises and bumps, it was completely violating, that's how it felt. What I'm going to say to you is that things like this don't stop, this is actually just the beginning. If you stay she will do it again because you would have shown her that she can do something truly disgusting to you and you stayed. I know you love her but you have to love yourself more.
