  1. He is neither wrong nor right. You may love that person as a 17 yr self would. But you do not understand the concept of love.

For example as a teenager you would think freedom is staying out as long as you want or not doing school work and going to parties etc.. But as an adult you will realise freedom in essence, is responsibility and accountability.

He just wants what's best for you. Don't take it that he doesn't understand or appreciate you. It is because he understands you as he was once 17 and appreciates you that he says that. So that you dont lose out on life or make regretable choices.

But this doesn't mean you can't be or shouldn't be in a relationship if you want. Human feelings are complex. So take your time and listen to your parents.

  2. Hello /u/fiestysquirrel,

Your post was removed for the following reason(s):

Your title did not include at least two ages/genders or was not formatted correctly

    Posts must:

include details about the involved parties including ages, genders, and length of relationship, and

request advice in real situations involving two or more people

We are enforcing the two rules listed above by making all titles use the following formatting:

[##X][##X], [## X][## X], or [##-X][##-X] where ## is the age and X is the gender (currently M, F, T, A, NB, FTM, MTF but more can be added). You can have more than two ages/genders listed, but you must have at least two. Here is an example:

[34NB][88-F] We are two people in an example post

Please resubmit with a corrected title.

  3. This post has reached one of our comment/karma limits. The text of the post has been preserved below.

I matched with him on a dating app and we have been talking for a few months now. I didn't think I'd ever get along with somone that much older than me, but still decided to give it a go. And now I really like him, I think we get along really well and would want to have smth more serious later on. He's also my first in some things so I feel like it might have had an affect on how I view him.

However after talking with my friends they found that age gap to be huge and that it doesn't sound great. And that's making me doubt everything. And some said even if it's not an issue now, years into the relationship that generational difference might be an issue so because of that I should go with someone younger.

So I'm not sure if I should keep on going with him or just end things because of the age gap?

And is there anyone out there with happy long term relationships with a similar age gap?

  4. Your ages and the first sentence are enough for me to know that I can’t even read this post.

I was you. I dated a guy nearly 10 years older than me when I was 20-21. It’s a bad idea every time.

  5. “dont disrespect a man in his house” god you people truly do online in one hell of a backwater, wild west, primitive ass, antiquated weird fuck feudalism esque, backward, syphilitic brained delusion together don't yas. Do you banish women to the fields during their “time of vast shame thou mustn'th speaketh oft” too?

  6. I, for my part, wouldn't want to have a partner that keeps on mocking people over things, they didn't ask to be born with tbh.

I mean, it's your decision in the end, but to me that doesn't really show a great personality – so there are other problems I'd say..

Also, what are we talking about? Could be important

  7. Spitting at or on someone is a MASSIVE disrespect. I'd personally consider being punched in the face far less of an offence than someone spitting in my face. This is absolutely disgusting for many reasons. This is a proper “end relationship” action. With that one action, she's told you what she really thinks of you. In my opinion, there's no walking this one back. Ugh. I'm so sorry this happened to you OP. My best advise, leave her and find someone who respects you and won't do something so foul.

  8. He could be taking supplements or started eating new kinds of food lately that could make hrin but also sweat smell. But if he has done none of those habit changes it could be worth going to the doctor. Maybe issues with kidneys or somethings up

  9. Also what people forget in a open relationship… if people are not careful is the event of getting STDs. We don’t live! in a world of Star Trek Medical scanners yet to find out instantly if someone has Crabs… and other forms of transmissible diseases…

Just disgusting to think about alone…
