If a creepy guy was stalking your friend, would you tell her that she owed it to him to put up with it because he had helped her in the past? Or would you tell her that she doesn't have to make good on a deal that only existed in this guy's head? You deserve respect and safety too, OP.
If he hassles you are home, you may need to involve the cops. In class, I would suggest asking (loudly enough for other people to hear) things like, “why won't you leave me alone like I've asked?” Involving other people will hopefully embarrass him into backing down. All of this advice applies ONLY if you feel safe implementing it.
Unfortunately, I burned a lot of bridges getting back with him. My fault, of course. Getting distracted isn’t an issue, I did it easily when we broke up. I’m currently trying to rebuild my support system to make the breaking up part easier, though. Very small steps, haha.
Hopefully I don’t sound too pessimistic. I know I will come out of this, it’s a matter of when. Attachments and idealism sucks.
