If you don’t believe you ever want to be part of the Christian religion again then my advice is to end it and move on. Religion is a major aspect of peoples lives and not everyone can work with other religions/ beliefs. You are willing to let the kids be raised in his religion as long as they are allowed to choose when they are older (teens?). He didn’t respond to that, which to me means he is not ok with that prospect. There is a chance everything will work out and you guys will be great together even with different religious beliefs but there is even a greater chance that this will become a major problem between the two of you and, from what I read, you will be doing all the compromising.
