I'd say to get a paternity test immediately. It's not impossible that she hooked up with someone which made her question the relationship with you, leading to the break. Then finding out she's pregnant and seeing you as the more “stable” possibility as a father.
As for the message itself, I don't really see what you say is a veiled threat but what I do see, and what in my mind adds credence to my theory, is that she calls it “my baby” and not “our baby”, which seems like she doesn't see you as the father.
But no matter what, you should not entertain getting back together with her. If after 6 months of dating she suddenly decides to break things off for trivial reasons, you have zero guarantees it won't happen again just because a child is involved. You could potentially be dealing with that sort of nonsense for years and that's no good for anyone's mental health.
Wow. And how did this relate to my comment in the first place. You can be honest in a non-offensive way. You made it seem like OP would be physically unable to tell his gf the hole story without being offensive. Communication skills much? (Eyeroll to the point of losing both my eyeballs)
