2. I can give you some advice as a former property manager.

   Don't rent your house out. It becomes a huge headache when you do. The income you get from it, you would have to put into it's own bank account and save for property damage from renters, if anything breaks you are responsible for fixing it, if they move out, you now have to pay for it to be cleaned and any damages to be fixed. If you have to evict them, good lord the amount of damage they will do to your home is unreal. If they don't like something in the home or want to change it, they will do so, and then you will have to fix it when they leave. It all becomes a hassle that really isn't worth all that.

   Also you own your own home, it is yours, unless you don't pay the mortgage you don't have to worry about being kicked out, you can do what you want to it, and won't be hassled by a landlord. You also don't have neighbors above you, below you or sharing a wall.

   Why in the world would a adult person give up a home for renting a apartment?

   It sounds like you would sacrifice so much while she sacrifices nothing. Why is that fair? She wants her way or no way. She won't do anything you suggest like the trial living situation. It has to be her way.

   Is this really how you want the rest of your life going? Doing what she wants all the time, making the sacrifice for her all the time while she never does in return?

   Sounds like she is showing her true self to you. Which is selfish.
