Thank you, I think she has an idea of what happened in my childhood. Not that any of that stuff matters I’m just more worried about what this will do to her. She has self-esteem issues and some of the things my mom said I know will hurt her really deep especially the racial slurs. Which I don’t get because my dad and gf are the exact same race so those slurs would apply to me too. I know my gf is going to take everything to heart and blame herself and I don’t know how to breach a conversation of this magnitude or size to her. Should I be like hey babe I know I’ve been trying to cut my mom off for years, well here’s reason 10,000 and it’s all about you? Like how do I even start should I take her to dinner first? I’ve never had to have a conversation about my mom’s behavior with my girlfriend. It’s always been a problem for me and now it’s starting to spill over into her life and our lives together.
