Thank you for your advice and support. ? I agree, he does need therapy, but he doesn’t understand that he has any personal issues to work out (besides his ‘personal journey with sobriety’) and he feels like it’s my problem because I feel like there’s an issue of distance in our relationship and he doesn’t feel it-that he’s just enjoying a hobby and since I have a lot of trauma, it’s easy for him to say that it’s coming up because of my own unresolved issues…but I AM in therapy. It’s very hot to explain to someone who feels that he’s working out his own journey that he NEEDS to do something, because it feels like coercing or controlling. I am in my own recovery of sorts in a support group for family of addicts to help me try and focus on myself but it’s difficult when you’re living with and in relationship with someone, sharing animals, etc and also desiring intimacy with someone who is perhaps incapable. Heck, sometimes I wonder if I’m capable due to my own issues with abandonment and betrayals.
